K9 Nose Work classes are taught by independent instructors who have been certified (CNWI) or are in the process of certification (ANWI) with the National Association of Canine Scent Work™.
When you choose a class with a CNWI or ANWI, you’ll be taught the foundational skills of the activity and sport in a manner consistent with the philosophy of the founders of K9 Nose Work.
Some of the things you will learn in K9 Nose Work classes are:
This 6 week class introduces food hidden in plastic containers, boxes, and under chairs, to develop your dog’s natural hunting abilities. You will build your dog’s confidence while burning mental and physical energy using food, toys and exercise. Learning to read your dog’s body language to recognize when they are “in odor” will help you excel in this sport. Only one dog works at a time making this a great option for those dogs who have trouble focusing in a traditional group class with other dogs. Your dog must be comfortable being crated in the building or in your vehicle when not working. This class works best for dogs that are food or toy motivated.
Prerequisites: Puppy K and Play or Family Dog Level 1 and must be at least 6 months old.
Class is 1 hour long for 6 consecutive weeks in the location you register for.
Proof of age appropriate vaccinations (DHLPP, Bordatella Rabies) is required to participate in class.
No refunds will be issued once class begins.
Missed classes: Please note that we are unable to schedule make-up classes as the majority of our scheduled classes are full.
